I like the scene from the movie "Gladiator" is Maximus Decimus Meridius fighting with Tigris of Gaul at arena.


Describe the scene I like best
The scene was started a battle between Maximus and Tigris. Tigris come out from the tunnel with his grand chariot and wearing a highly decorated armor with silver helmet. Maximus was wearing an armor including breast plates , leg armor and arm armor, this look like poorly protected. Besides, his's left hand side holding a sword (27 inch long gladius) and right hand side holding a shield. Tigris kicks sand into Maximus's face and begins the fight. Maximus is using sword to attack and shield to defense. As the fight continues and as Maximus is thrown to the ground, trap door opens and out jumps a large tiger, pouncing at the fighting gladiators. Maximus is try to escape the claws of the tigers as he battles Tigris. In the background can be heard 'loose,loose,loose' and 'pull, pull,pull' from the crowd.


Explain why you like that scene
I like this scene when Maximus fighting with Tigris and four tigers. This is because the scene show tense and exciting. Tigris was wearing a full headed and silver helmet but Maximus was poorly protected with gladius and shield. During the battle with Tigris, he was not afraid to confront the four tigers and wisdom to escape the claws of the tigers. Although four tigers are placed in the arena to make Maximus fight even more difficult, Maximus defeats Tigris. In the battle, reflected that Maximus is ability and brave.
Finally, Maximus defeated Tigris. The crowd cheers "kill, kill, kill". He suddenly tosses the hatchet aside and finished with the senseless killing. He refuses to kill him, though, because he has fought with honor. This scene shows that Maximus is merciful.
