Loenardo Da Vinci c.1499-1500 or c. 1506-1508charchol, black and white chalk in tinted paper mounted on canvas
This painting have another name --- The Burlington House Cartoon
Virgin Mary upper body has lost clarity look like the head are part of the same body, sit on the lap of Saint Anne Saint Anne's finger (the color was more light then others part of this painting) was pointing up --- heaven, intimate to Christ's future destiny. Virgin Mary's hands was holding the Christ with lower clarity of lines. The Christ child(in the middle) was blesses his cousin Saint John the Baptist (on the right) .
This painting is complex like a sketch with organic lines in a cartoon form.
This painting is a combination of The Virgin and Child with St Anne, both of this painting looks the same of view for me.
